About Our Meat
Why Dexter beef?
Dexter cattle are a smaller heritage breed known for rich flavor, tender cuts, and excellent marbling without excess fat. Their size allows them to mature naturally on pasture, making them a great fit for grass-fed, regenerative systems. We raise Dexters because they thrive on our land and produce beef we’re proud to feed our own family.
How is your beef raised?
Our cattle are family-raised on pasture in Northern Idaho and fed a grass-based diet. We do not use added hormones or routine antibiotics. We focus on low-stress handling, rotational grazing, and improving the land as we go — leaving it better than we found it.
How is the meat packaged?
All beef is professionally processed, packaged, and clearly labeled. Seafood is vacuum-sealed. Cuts are packaged in practical, family-friendly portions and shipped frozen to preserve freshness and quality.
Ordering & Pricing
How does pricing work?
Beef is priced by final packaged weight, not hanging weight. Your per-pound price includes processing and packaging — no surprise fees. For bulk orders that require a deposit, your deposit is applied to the final balance, which is due before shipping or pickup.
How much freezer space do I need?
As a general guide:
- 5 lb bundle: fits in a small freezer drawer
- 30 lb bundle: about 1 cubic foot
- Quarter beef: ~4 cubic feet
- Half beef: ~8 cubic feet
If you’re unsure, we’re always happy to help you plan.
Is this a subscription?
No. We don’t do subscriptions. You order what you want, when you want it.
Shipping & Pickup
How does shipping work?
We ship our beef frozen and carefully packed in insulated boxes. Orders typically arrive within 4–5 days from Northern Idaho. We ship anywhere we can confidently deliver your beef frozen and in excellent condition.
Where do you ship?
We currently ship throughout much of the Pacific Northwest and surrounding states, including Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, and California. If you’re outside this area, sign up for our email list — we’re working on expanding our range.
Do you offer local pickup?
Yes. Pickup in Viola, Idaho. Local pickup is available by arrangement and includes a pickup discount as a thank-you for keeping things simple. Pickup details are finalized after your order is confirmed.
Seafood
Where does your seafood come from?
Our seafood comes from trusted partners who share our values. We work directly with small, family-run fisheries — including Wild Coast Seafoods in Alaska — to source wild-caught, responsibly harvested seafood we’re proud to stand behind.
Is seafood frozen?
Yes. All seafood is flash-frozen at peak freshness and shipped frozen to maintain quality and flavor.
